- Prohibited: landing or using the sand inside the cave; entering by swimming or with floating aids; access with visibility
  under 1,000 m; diving; navigation between sunset and sunrise; fishing in or near the cave; unguided kayak/SUP tours and rentals.
- Capacity (2025): up to 5 motor boats and up to 14 paddle craft inside at once; motor boat visit 2 minutes; paddle group
  up to 8 minutes; groups of 6 paddle craft per certified guide; boats use the western opening, paddle craft the eastern
  one in single file; life jackets for the whole visit; helmets near rockfall-risk cliffs.

  Oct 2023; working group led by CCDR Algarve; Algarve tourism board (Jun 2025): incidents of too many boats inside have stopped.

- 'The boat drops you on the beach inside': landing is prohibited for everyone since 13 Aug 2024; photos of people on
  the sand predate the rule.
- 'Rent a kayak and paddle in yourself': unguided kayak/SUP tours and rentals are not allowed in the regulated zone.
- 'The cave is closed': it is open and regulated; the sea closes it on rough or low-visibility days.
- 'A fine of 2,500 per swimmer': that figure is not in the official text; fines are set in the edital by category.
- 'You can hike down to the cave': no path exists; the trail only gives the view through the skylight.
